For God and the Empire

It came as no surprise that Stella McCartney was chosen by HM the Queen to receive OBE (Order of the British Empire) for her services to fashion.

The daughter of former Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney and the late American photographer and animal rights activist Linda McCartney, Stella became famous while working as Creative Director at Chloè in 1997. Leaving the house in 2001 she launched her own fashion house under her name which now operates 17 stores worldwide.
She was also picked to design the UK’s 2012 Olympic uniforms which she said “she would do again and again and again”.

Receiving OBE Stella McCartney joins such a wonderful company of Dame Vivienne Westwood, Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen and Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon. Not to mention that this is the second royal honor for the family.
